Exporting texture maps with wireframe reference

Hi there

I am currently giving 3dCoat a spin and have a question for the UV room:

I've created the seams and unwrapped the model successfully. The texture export also works well apart from the fact that I would like to export the UV wireframe as a reference as well (on a separate layer would be cool). I havent yet been able to do that.

Any ideas on how to do this?

Cheers,

Michael

PS: Why can I only make 2 posts per day?

"2 posts" probably refers to that "New Member" under your avatar. It's probably intended to prevent peddlers invading our precints. As for the wireframe, I think you can do that with your link to Photoshop or whatever PSD capable paint program you use.

ah okay. Well I hope I dont run out of posts during my 3DC trial ;)

on the wireframe stuff: a PSD capable editor is registered in the settings, but how do i trigger this "link"?

Cheers,

michael

From the manual <_< : "Right clicking on any unselected Brush alpha invokes a comprehensive list of alpha editing functions." This is only slightly misleading as right clicking on any of the six  'round' ones doesn't get squat but all the others produce a drop down where you can select "edit in external editor".

Hello Michael.

Maybe try this: http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10459&p=82849

This will produce a file with a texture from the currently selected layer and one containing UV snapshot. You can then copy the snapshot layer to PSD with multiple textures you have now, if it's missing it.
