Advanced Member Grimmy Posted July 30, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 30, 2013 Hi all, I am using 3dCoat to paint low poly models but a lot of the time I need to limit my painting to specific faces. I know that I can create masks etc manually but is there a some kind of tool that would allow me to paint on speficic faces quickly. I've tried the hide (make some faces invisible) tool but it only seems to hide faces about 10% of the time. I'm guessing this is broken right? Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted July 30, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted July 30, 2013 Try using the last draw mode in the E-Panel (hit the E key to bring the panel to your cursor)
Advanced Member Pix Jigsaw Posted July 31, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 31, 2013 That tool AbnRanger mentioned should be really useful to you. It will select entire polygons. Use it with the freeze tool. Paint with freeze will mask faces. Hold ctrl while painting frozen faces and it will un-freeze those faces. Also, check out the freeze tool menu on top for other operations related to freeze.
