Advanced Member alvordr Posted September 15, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 15, 2013 I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread about things we love about 3D Coat. Nothing in this thread should be negative or areas for improvement. This is strictly intended to talk about what we like and/or works well. It might be a great source for product quotes from users, as well as a place to get some "healthy" news.
Advanced Member Pix Jigsaw Posted September 16, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 Thanks alvordr. Good topic. I love the helpful community on this Forum. I love that 3D Coat lets me approach sculpting like an artist. It just feels good to use. It really interfaces well with a tablet. We spend a lot of time discussing the technical features and settings here, but at the end of the day what keeps me coming back is that pure pleasure of shaping digital clay. Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted September 16, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 3D Coat would be worth the $350 if it was still just a texture painting/UV editing application. To have a sculpting/modeling toolset that rivals Mudbox and ZBrush, included, is just amazing to me.
Member pagankmck Posted September 17, 2013 Member Report Share Posted September 17, 2013 I like fiddling with it. Just playing around without necessarily making something substantial. Also I learned how to retopolize in 3d coat.
New Member warmi Posted September 17, 2013 New Member Report Share Posted September 17, 2013 The texturing part, UVing and retopo , in that order.
