Advanced Member Marc Wakefield Posted September 27, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 27, 2013 http://www.triayaam.com/index.php/neitra-3d-pro/ The developer is really nice and their software looks awesome! They will be offering a 15 day full featured trial when they launch. Follow @TriAyaam on Twitter for details.
Advanced Member chingchong Posted September 27, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 27, 2013 Hmm... Agisoft is still the best in this field http://www.agisoft.ru/products/photoscan/standard/
Advanced Member Marc Wakefield Posted September 27, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 27, 2013 Agisoft is pretty cool but I think Neitra 3D looks like it may give it a run for its money. Infinite Reality's work using Agisoft is mind blowing.

Advanced Member spacepainter Posted September 29, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 29, 2013 I just bought Agisoft Photoscan. It works perfect. And it cost about 150 dollars or so. Why is this new product better? I have not seen very convincing pictures yet but ofcourse I hope they will prove to add value to the technique of photogrammetry. Advanced Member Marc Wakefield Posted September 30, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 30, 2013 Hi Spacepainter, I have also tried Agisoft Photo Scan and was quite impressed with the results. Not amazed though. Can you show some on sketchfab or give a few pointers? Neitra 3D appears to remove some of the guess work and waiting around by the looks of it. I can not tell you for sure until I have a copy but will let you know as soon as I do. I will hopefully be able to report back in the next few days....
Advanced Member spacepainter Posted October 1, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 1, 2013 Curious! It seems to be very interactive, true. That might be a gamechanger. My computer had a crashed motherboard but i'll post some stuff soon. Even rather dark pics with very high asa from the museum came out rather good. Fun to take sculptures home! Still experimenting though, will try out sunlighted pics asap.

Advanced Member geo_n Posted October 2, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 2, 2013 How much is it? I've tried agisoft and 123catch and found 123catch has better quality overall. Plus its free and uses the cloud to compute in minutes rather than hours in my I7 setup.
Advanced Member spacepainter Posted October 2, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) Yes there is an excellent feedback from Catch, Maybe it's even better ( it needs lots of work figuring that out ) but I like having the software at the desktop. The price is around 170 Dolllar Edited October 2, 2013 by spacepainter

It isn't a bad res and does look pretty usable. I would love to get those kind of results but it isn't happening. What are the exact steps you went through for this model and how many pictures did you need to take? Cheers,
Advanced Member spacepainter Posted October 2, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) For the angel 360 degrees takes about 50 pics I guess, for a half buste less than 30 pics. http://downloads.agisoft.ru/pdf/Image%20Capture%20Tips%20-%20Full%20Body%20Capture.pdf Some useful info. What did you take until now? I'd be glad to point out what to do, but I just followed the manual and did a lot of testing. Advanced Member spacepainter Posted October 2, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) On the 123Catch site there is a clear manual for taking the pics, I forgot to mention. Advanced Member spacepainter Posted October 15, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 15, 2013 New commercial product that is the pro version of 123Catch is called Recap Photo. In this movie the way to work is explained. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYM7uZeiXH0
Advanced Member Marc Wakefield Posted October 15, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 15, 2013 Cool, I am going to give this a try right now. I absolutely hate the 1990's shopping channel music and the presenters trans-Atlantic infomercial voice though. You would think AutoDesk would make cooler, up to date presentations. Advanced Member Marc Wakefield Posted October 15, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 15, 2013 The product is awesome though! Much better results on anything else I have tried. The photos I fed it were not great either.
Advanced Member spacepainter Posted October 15, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 15, 2013 (edited) Strangely autodesk still uses a tutorial movie they have been using since the product was named 'firefly' or something. How they manage to make a good product look completely infantile with their marketing is a mystery.
