Advanced Member Marc Wakefield Posted October 15, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 15, 2013 I am not sure how I feel about this yet.... It is cool and I am glad 3D Scanning / Printing is coming to the masses. I think it is a bit too cheap though. A lot of post work will go in to the mesh clean-up and then you have handling, shipping, etc... I have my scanner and printer coming next year and was hoping to charge more than this. Of course ASDA will not be sculpting additional details and turning people in to Centaurs, Barbarians, etc and I doubt they will turn the output in to retoppoed, animated avatars for games, interactive web 3D and personalized games. In fact, they probably will not even give the customer the digital file. So we are probably safe.... ... for now. ;-)
Advanced Member The Candy-floss Kid Posted November 2, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 2, 2013 Excellent the goal of realism beaten yet again by the machine. Hallelujah - get me two 3D prints of Aunt Doris and don't forget the mushy peas .
