Member Bosco911 Posted October 18, 2013 Member Report Share Posted October 18, 2013 Hey this was happening in 4.0.8 then I had to drop to 4.0.4 Was working on a sculpt, save as usual. Exit program. Open up file later, whole program crashes. I sent the report when I was prompted after but really want some help / want to get working on my file. I tried open recent, manual open, etc. Pretty much can't open the file. This happened to every file in 4.0.8 ALMOST all the time.
Contributor BeatKitano Posted October 19, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted October 19, 2013 If you're using cuda version, before doing anything go to voxel room, in voxel menu, deactivate cuda. Then load. If it doesn't work, try with the no cuda version in your application folder.
Member Bosco911 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Member Report Share Posted October 19, 2013 Crash, tried both. All my files crash now. I can work on them once, if I close them and try to re-open at any time... crash when loading. I've tried reinstall. Same same.
Contributor ajz3d Posted October 19, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted October 19, 2013 Bosco, maybe try sending your compressed scene(s) to support@3d-coat.com or support.linux@3d-coat.com.
Member Bosco911 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Member Report Share Posted October 19, 2013 All of them? All my files crash now when I open them. There is maybe one file that will open properly. I just tried again. Made something, save it, exit program. Load program, open file, instant crash. Tried re-install as well as options above. I've done the submit thing after the crashes also. Contributor ajz3d Posted October 20, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted October 20, 2013 One or two might probably be enough to find the cause I think.
Contributor BeatKitano Posted October 20, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted October 20, 2013 It's probably a setting file corruption, most of time the issue disappear when you delete those files, unfortunately I've never had to do it and don't know which one it is, if someone happen to know, please say it
Javis
I think it is a corrupted/bad config file, as well. I would move each config file one at a time to a different directory, until you can find the offending config file. Then once you do find it, send it to support AT 3d-coat DOT com
