Contributor Malo Posted November 15, 2013 Contributor Share Posted November 15, 2013 Hi I have a little problem with a bake. 1. I have created a head and paintet with vertexpaint. Looks fine so far. 2. I have created a retopo with uvs Still fine so far. 3. I merge my head into the paint room as PPP with Normalmap Everything works good, only the eyes would not be baked. Would be nice to know whats going wrong here.
Reputable Contributor digman Posted November 15, 2013 Reputable Contributor Share Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) Since you have the eyes on a different voxel/surface layer you need to use the names correspondence feature or it other words sequential baking. 3DCoat will first bake the body and then bake the eyes. Right now from your image it appears that the eyelid is occluding the eyes... Watch this video, I believe it will solve your problem... Very important part of the video, Your vox tree layers and your retopo group layers must have the same name for this to work... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh2YAp9WDDU Edited November 15, 2013 by digman
Contributor Malo Posted November 15, 2013 Author Contributor Share Posted November 15, 2013 Thanks but i use that option and i use names. It wont works with or without that option, If i delete the head and bake only the eyes, i still get no correct bake. It only works with the external baking. But then i get that sequential error that you see in the video above.

Contributor Malo Posted November 15, 2013 Author Contributor Share Posted November 15, 2013 Still no difference. Head and eyes use the same shader. Please try it. Test.7z I have deleted everything only the eyes and retopo should be there. Maybe i did something wrong, but i cant find it.
Reputable Contributor digman Posted November 15, 2013 Reputable Contributor Share Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) Possible bug then maybe, I would send the file directly to support if possible by using the upload feature under the help menu, That way Andrew can look at it and see if it is a bug... EDIT I just saw you posted your file, I will look at it... Edited November 15, 2013 by digman

Reputable Contributor digman Posted November 15, 2013 Reputable Contributor Share Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) It appears the Layer "0" is corrupted for the eyes... Layer "0" should just house the shader and not what you see in the image I uploaded. Sometimes we add paint material there by mistake or just somehow it got corrupted. I exported the eyes out as an obj file, then remerged them into a different layer. Scaled them up and lined them up to the original eyes. Then I deleted the original eyes but kept the eyes retopo meshes in place. I added vertex paint to the new eyes and that baked correctly. It appears that you just might have to create two new eyes on a different layer and repaint them... I also had the extra layer being added as well. I'm not sure what corrupted layer "0" Edited November 15, 2013 by digman

It used to do it automatically, but it stopped for a long time, there...it seemed.
Reputable Contributor digman Posted November 15, 2013 Reputable Contributor Share Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) Yes you are right it had stopped but this time it work. I did not do any kind of embedding myself, so maybe just the official 3DC youtube are automatically embedded now. I have not tried any other youtube videos.
