3D Coat 4.0.04B(DX64) Trial

Open app, click on Voxel Sculpting

Add a sphere

Go to Camera-Background-Choose Background Image

Add a Ref Image for X-Axis

Click on Editor Grid (Grow tool was currently selected)

App quits responding

Probably not supposed to click on the grid but noobs do things other people don't think of. ;)

Oh well, it crashes for me on all 4 versions (DX, GL, and DX Cuda and GL Cuda). Don't know what else I can do is hope maybe somebody else tries and can duplicate this. I am running Win 7 Pro 64 with a Nvidia GTX 780 with latest drivers.

Added: I just tried it again and did NOT choose a primitive from the Trial start screen (I closed it). I selected Voxel Sculpting then closed without choosing a primitive. Then I added a background. Then I added a reference image. All good so far. THEN I added a primitive sphere. And all is good. So maybe adding the primitive sphere from the start screen first causes the problem??

p.s.s. I tried it again and it crashes. I will keep testing it and report back after I can come up with more things that work and don't work.

nope

let see... thats my steps

start screen

voxel room

medium sphere

camera

background

ref image for x axis -or z, or y-

I can follow your steps exactly and it crashes. This time I chose the "y" axis. Weird. I hope someone tries this to help out to see if it only happens with certain configuration or hardware. I have 16GB Ram too.

I think I am making progress. :) I went into Preferences and restored all windows and settings to default and now it appears to be working. I will let you know as I play around some more...

Thanks,

NM

added: Looks like that took care of it. :)
