Advanced Member The Candy-floss Kid Posted March 7, 2014 Advanced Member Report Share Posted March 7, 2014 Thinking as I did that the Bas Relief tool was for ...well bas-relief, I had largely ignored it for quite some time. It turns out it's a very useful tool for many purposes. Now I find I use it all the time and so I created this video to share with other users who perhaps like me thought it for bas relief. Best viewed at full size on vimeo. Feel free to share other uses you find for the bas relief tool.

Reputable Contributor digman Posted March 7, 2014 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted March 7, 2014 Yes, I now see the many uses of the bas relief tool as it was a tool I very seldom ever used. Thanks for the clear tutorial...

Contributor TimmyZDesign Posted March 8, 2014 Contributor Report Share Posted March 8, 2014 Yeah, cool tutorial! Thanks! However I still don't really understand the "coefficient" thing. I've always just used "1" because any other number gives weird results that I don't understand. Also I think the gizmo is very strange too. Visually I think it does the opposite of what it should. Shouldn't the extrusion occur in the direction that the arrow is pointing? But thanks for the tutorial, there are a lot of good ideas in there that I hadn't thought about.
