Member dragon Posted March 10, 2014 Member Share Posted March 10, 2014 Hello Is it possible to import a .dae with multiple UV-maps? The model and one UV-map imports just fine, but I need a way to get all my maps to 3D-coat. Thanks, dragon
Carlosan
will you share the .dae model to test it ?
Member dragon Posted March 10, 2014 Author Member Share Posted March 10, 2014 I can upload it tomorrow, but first I'd like to know if it is generally possible and what settings I have to use.
Javis
Yes it is generally possible. 3DC doesn't support UV tiles natively. What it does is when it sees multiple UV tiles in use is it will have an option upon import (and thus upon export as well), is it gives you an option to import UV tiles as UV maps and then assigns a number to each tile section. Also when you export you need to make sure to tick the option for export UV maps (or sets I believe it's called on the option) as UV tiles. Member dragon Posted March 19, 2014 Author Member Share Posted March 19, 2014 I can't get it to work -.- I attached my file; would be great if someone could tell me what I have to do to import it correctly.
Carlosan
great model will you please assign a different material for every UV-maps ? 3DC use same Lightwave philosophy, UV islands are split by materials. Very handy if you works with ddo or surface designer combo.

Member dragon Posted March 23, 2014 Author Member Share Posted March 23, 2014 Ok, it kinda works, but it seems my UVs just aren't set up right for 3D-Coat. Damn -.-
Javis
Something may change in 4.2 that will allow for multiple UV maps.
