Member Cowtail Posted June 11, 2014 Member Share Posted June 11, 2014 Very nice work so far guys, I'm loving the detail. I'm not much into hard surface modeling, but hopefully I can participate before the deadline

Contributor ajz3d Posted June 12, 2014 Contributor Share Posted June 12, 2014 I have a couple of free days, so I'll join the challenge with a duck's foot flintlock pistol (also known as duckfoot pistol or volley gun). Duck's foot pistols of many types were used by prison wardens, ship captains and bank guards of XVIII and XIX century. This one has eight barrels (two pointing straight forward) and a combo of a barbed blade and some spikes on its butt, both to be used as last resort in close combat. The quick sketch is a little bit wonky, but it shows the general concept of the pistol. I might change its barrels a bit so they look more like in a blunderbuss and I might also greatly modify pistol's decoration. But I haven't decided yet whether I should stylise the pistol or keep it as close to the original as possible. More info on Dave A. Cushman's page (http://www.dave-cushman.net/shot/ducksfoot.html). The pistol is listed next to the last one.

Contributor Tony Nemo Posted June 15, 2014 Contributor Share Posted June 15, 2014 You really need two hands for that monster. Does it use fifty calibre ammo?
Advanced Member Cleitus Posted June 15, 2014 Advanced Member Share Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) A little modification - Now each part corresponds to his hole and the gun almost fully ready for animation - The name also had to try, I had to dig through the whole Internet to find the name of one of the fastest runners, of course in French, this is (Meso-dolicomorfo) - Edited June 15, 2014 by Cleitus
Advanced Member GeneralAce55 Posted June 16, 2014 Advanced Member Share Posted June 16, 2014 You guys have some amazing works!! Also, thanks to all who responded to my questions, I really appreciate it! One more question to go along with that, Cleitus, how did you manage to get that wave pattern on the grip of the pistol? I have no idea where to even start on creating such high-frequency detail. Finally, here's an update on my gun,
