Member Blindit Posted June 25, 2014 Member Share Posted June 25, 2014 Hi, anybody: I've run through three tries of attempting to get the provided code (at the linux download link for 3D-Coat 4.1) to create a working desktop launcher in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64-bit. I made the .sh file and the .desktop file executeable under the properties dialogues. I fixed all the file and directory name errors in the code provided (for some reason, hyphens on the downloaded code do not paste into my gedit or bash terminal; I noticed and fixed that). The only way I ever got a desktop launcher working in Ubuntu (back in version 12.04) was to install Wine Windows Application Launcher and use a .lnk file to launch, instead. I don't want to install Wine just for this. Thanks in advance.

SERGYI
The document regarding Linux shortcut creation has been updated with screenshots from Ubuntu 14.04: http://3d-coat.com/~sergyi/LinuxDocs/LinuxShortcut.pdf To solve the problem with hyphens the PDF-document has been exported in Office for Mac instead of Google Drive.
