I am trying to get clean auto-retopos.

Tutorials say to symmatrize the model and then check the symmetry axis on the AutopoParams popup. Buuut, as you can see, I don't have the the check boxes.

I used to have them, but clearly, I did something and I can't figure out what.

Thanx !

Symmetry is on, as you can see by the picture. It gives me that message regardless. I did try the radial symmetry, like the message tells me.

Here is what I was looking for. The checkboxes from the Retoparams.

I think so carlosan.

So that message ( on the first post ) isn't really telling me that I am doing something wrong. Whether I have applied symmetry or not, I will get that message.

thanx !

That's correct. It's just a reminder of sorts. I think Andrew removed the Symmetry checkbox's from the Auto-Retopo dialog, after Radial Symmetry was introduced. I would guess the reason being that it can conflict or confuse the user, if they already had symmetry enabled before starting Auto-Retopo. Might be a move to reduce redundancy? Not sure, but if you have symmetry enabled from the Symmetry panel, Auto-Retopo will respect it

Haven't used it in a while, so I don't specifically know of the changes. That's kind of how it goes in 3D Coat a lot of times. Small changes only announced in the release notes. That's why it's good to comb over them when you install a new build. If you skip a few builds, it might be a good practice to skim over all the release notes of the ones, since.
