Advanced Member worldcrafter Posted May 4, 2015 Advanced Member Share Posted May 4, 2015 Is there something similar to the "on brush" tool for placing objects, but that keeps the uv's of the model. I want to import textures for the models placed - This would be brilliant for adding textured details (I.E grass, tiny stones, small weeds) to a scene. Advanced Member worldcrafter Posted May 4, 2015 Author Advanced Member Share Posted May 4, 2015 If there is not a way to do this in 3dc, perhaps you know of another software than can place uv mapped models on a mesh by brush.
Javis
There is no way to do this right now in 3DC. This would make a nice feature request. MODO can do it though.
Advanced Member worldcrafter Posted May 5, 2015 Author Advanced Member Share Posted May 5, 2015 Thanks, could you tell me how I can identify this feature in modo with words? (so I can check out the documentation and maybe videos)
Javis
Sure! It can be done with Mesh Paint (it's under Modeling>Duplicate>Mesh Paint). It has all sorts of alignment functions tool Really handy feature. It can also be done with some of the particle painting tools, but I think the Mesh Paint tool is probably the easiest way.
