ID color map and Masks questions

Working with Color IDs is not possible.

There is no way to use it at this time, maybe someone in the future.

 

You could every layer as a mask. It works different as in PS or other painting apps.

Take a look into LayerBlending Tab, on the bottom there is the a field what layer you want to use as mask.

If your ID map is not too complicated then you can manually fill each ID color with Fill tool (use color tolerance checked). This is a manual process. In case if you want to change ID map then you have to refill all your color areas again.

Unfortunately using fill is the only fast solution as all gurus said above me.

 

Now , when you have a pre made id map and you want to get a smart material to each color id you must do it with layer masks.

 

 

I suppose Andrew will address this at the near future as is a requested feature by others me included as well.
