Advanced Member Grimmy Posted July 9, 2015 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) 4.1.17D Hi, I have several (4) sub objects in my scene. There are 2 problems: 1. When I try to rename any of my 4 textures maps using Edit>Mesh & Texture Resolution this doesn't actually seem to apply itself to the texture map and the old names are retained. 2. When I try to export all my textures using Textures>Export>Diffuse Map>UvSet=Save All Textures, only 2 of the 4 are actually exported. Are these bugs or am I doing something wrong. If they are bugs I'd like to know how everybody has gotten this far without noticing Surely renaming & exporting textures is quite an important part of the software? Cheers P.S Additionally, if I just export the complete object, only 2 of the 4 textures get exported. Edited July 9, 2015 by Grimmy
Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted July 9, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 You can rename maps in uv room. You can export all by selecting File --> Export object and textures Also in Textures --> Export you can choose to export each type individually. Advanced Member Grimmy Posted July 9, 2015 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 These commands don't work with multiple sub objects. I've tried the commands from both the paint rooms and the UV rooms but they have the same effct. Only 2 out of 4 textures get exported. I know this works with a single object/texture but I can't get it to work with multiple imported objects. Where can I rename the textures in the UV room? Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted July 9, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 On your right , on Surface materials list. Or while you import (if import is your case)
Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted July 9, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 As for renaming it works on my side.
Advanced Member Grimmy Posted July 9, 2015 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 They (materials) seem to be called 'phong1' phong2 etc while my textures themselves are called DiffuseUV.
Carlosan
Hi Grimmy You can rename the Materials using the popup Surface Material (at version 4.5) / Materials popup (at version 4.1) http://3d-coat.com/manual/paint/279-surfacematerials/ And rename any UVset at UV room
Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted July 9, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 Exactly what Carlosan showed.
Advanced Member Grimmy Posted July 9, 2015 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 9, 2015 Okay great. I'll try later and report back to see if renaming them allows me to actually export them.
Advanced Member Solution Grimmy Posted July 10, 2015 Author Advanced Member Solution Report Share Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Hi all, using the above method I was able to rename all my textures and then (and only then) export ALL of them using... Textures>Export>Diffuse Map>UvSet=Save All Textures Thank you all !! I do think it would be good though if textures could be renamed also in the Edit>Mesh & Texture Resolution window (Which they can, but they are just not saved) Edited July 10, 2015 by Grimmy
