Allo aloo Artur ,

wood is the next one.

Trying to get as much as possible from the ones i already have (around 60 woods count so far) so it really worth peoples $$.

Got too much work on my hands and testing is killing me , plus that every since and a while the materials bug hits me and i must get materials back from backup and re organize them , I have one folder that i got all 400 500 ++ materials in (proved a not so smart movement) .

Anyway , will try to get this up in the next 24 hopefully.

FOR THEA RENDER

Pipeline 1

Basic workflow :

Albedo translates  in colour

AO translates  in highlights with intensity tweaks regarding your light setup

Roughness translates in shininess

Metalness translates in reflection again you need to  tweak   Fresnel and refraction

Pipeline 2

Substance Thea Converter

https://www.thearender.com/site/index.php/features/substance-to-thea-material-converter.html

Unique Features

By taking advantage of the Substance Engine, changes to the Substance files can be made inside the converter. The results can be applied automatically to a Thea material which the user can preview under different settings. Physically-based materials designed with the Metallic/Roughness template are automatically converted to their equivalent in the Thea material system. Additionally, the user can create his/her own combinations although the result is not guaranteed to be physically accurate. Batch conversion of Metallic/Roughness Substance files to Thea materials or to a Thea material pack is also supported.

Sorry I'm totally new to this with 3D Coat and PBR-Materials. I use C4D and Thearender. Does this mean that I model my house in my CAD, load it in 3DCoat, unwrap and paint it and make materials for what I want and then translate these 3D-Coat-materials to Thearender and can use all informations of it? If you're new to that it is like a big mountain to climb...

Greetings tildee ,

thats the cost of using multiple software in order to achieve a final quality result.

You will get used to it.

What i can ensure you is that 3D Coat is one of the finest sculp , paint , retopo , uv software around and it will serve you well.

I apologise for the misunderstanding ,

With any smart material (including the ones i sell too) you can get them into 3D Coat and start painting.

On export 3D Coat will let you get 3 export options / workflows

1) Gloss / Colour Specular

2) Gloss metallness

3) Roughness / metallness

With those textures you can work with Thea following the instructions i gave a couple messages back.

If you think you cant do it or its too fuss of a procedure please do not buy.

For thea users :

Easiest way of doing this is to get any substance material and run the converter.

It will auto create the textures and assign them to a material.

All you have to do is see what it created and just replace with your textures  ;)

Thanks for the tips on Thea Render, Michael. As I am understanding it, the output method should be Glossiness/Metalness for unbiased (physically based render engines), and the Glossy/Spec Color for biased engines. Feel free to correct me, if I'm wrong, but based on what I've seen/read thus far, that seems to be the right approach. Here is a nice video tutorial covering the Thea > Substance Converter:

Yes correct , they  work fine with all mapping methods / projections.

I just created them in unwrap mode so in my eyes they work best there.

Of course there are cases that cube mapping beats them all.
