Advanced Member benk Posted January 12, 2016 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 12, 2016 I have run into something confusing within the paint room. Irrespective of which pen alpha I enable, the paint stroke seems to be locked to a "pen 4" alpha type...a hairy blob if you will. This seems to be in effect whether painting a UV map or vertex painting. As always any suggestions appreciated. bk

Advanced Member Ballistic_Tension Posted January 12, 2016 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 12, 2016 Did you use a stencil before click on close to make sure. I do not think that is it but worth a try it happens to me on smart materials from time to time.
Reputable Contributor Solution digman Posted January 12, 2016 Reputable Contributor Solution Report Share Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) It could be that you have selected that alpha in the Strips Tool panel. When using the strips tool it locks the brush alpha to the strip selected alpha. Your other regular alpha is blended with the strip alpha but it favors the strip alpha. Click on close in the panel to disable the strips tool. Strip tool common workflow is selecting a standard circular alpha and then select your Strips tool alpha. Example: Creating zippers on a jacket. Edited January 12, 2016 by digman
Advanced Member benk Posted January 12, 2016 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 12, 2016 Success! Thanks for all the suggestions. Digman has the solution. I knew it had to be something I screwed up. I have never intentionally used the strips tool so I never pay attention to it. Apparently I must have inadvertently activated it and didn't know it. To resolve the problem I had to open the strips panel in the paint room and deactivate. This forum and it's participates are fantastic. Thanks again for all the help. bk
