Hi, there. I'm a little late to the party.
Will post my progress here.

After a lot of references , I decided to create some context to the piece. It's a racing, maybe inspired by wacky races or something like that. :D

This is the first pass on the car:

The design is not final though but pretty close.

I can see Muttley the dog in it . I really like the over all look is it hollow all the way  through the middle ?

Thanks! Glad you liked it!

The pilot will be a little girl. I really like more cartoonish settings. Later I will show more angles to make all the design clear.

The car's pilot mostly done. Will add more details once I see her together with the car, which already is 95% done.
The hair was so fun to do. ^_^

First time ever that I sculpt and model a girl.

Please proceed! :) I like the cartoony vibe. Maybe the exhaust could be more "wacky" to pronounce the style more?

How did you achieve the ladder and the pipe near the front?

Hey man, sorry for keep you waiting. These was really busy days. :(

I tried more "wackyness" on the exhaust, but I think that it didn't work very well in conjunction with the character.

The ladder and the pipe was curve brush on 3d Coat. :)

News pass on this one. This time I would like to show a clay look. It was great to sculpt on 3D Coat, specially the environment.

Baking the details was a blast (not applied on this picture though).

This one is a clay render with normal map generated baking the sculpted details on a retopologized mesh. It worked out pretty well. Right now, I'm focusing more on the environment.

Will there be a few strands waving in the breeze to go with the grime on her face and clothes? A tough call on the face as it might be associated with a bad complexion. I know you want the contrast with clean skin around the eyes, but perhaps something more uniform in opacity would allow it to be used on the hair as well and on the front more than the back.

Yeah, the hair will be waving!

About the face, actually the SSS on the rendering make it look a little less "dirty". The hair really need more attention though.

FINAL ENTRY

Luna is the youngest driver to race in the Big Racing Cup, with her car, Number 28, built by herself.

It was a great contest. I decided to create a cartoon scene and used 3D-Coat and Modo on this one. All the sculping and texturing was created on 3D-Coat. Modo was used to some UV, simulation and rendering. 3D-Coat's helped a lot with auto-unwrap as well.

Hope  you all like it! Cheers!
