Updating UVs problem

Recommended Posts

So, I have a really big 3d Coat's file (2,5gb) for a project composed of several objects.
Then I realized that a UV of one of my objects is all messy while painting.
In the UV Room I created new uvs and unwrapped this specific object. Made every other paint object and surface material hidden to just focus on the problematic object.

Then, when I hit Apply-UVs 3D Coat starting to work and freezes. Software not responding anymore.

I7 3770k, 32gb DDR3, GTX 970, Windows 10, 3D Coat 4.7.01 (DX). Tried with 4.5.40 without any sucess.

Hi Dimitri

Could you please use

Retopo > Remove N-Gons

Bake > Bake selecting only

Delete the old/wrong Paint Objects in Paint room

and try again ?

Hey, Carlosan. Thanks for your post.

I must say that I don't have any retopo groups but the default one. I did retopology and UV outside 3D Coat and brought it back for painting. So I don't have anything to bake or am I understanding on the wrong way?

You did retopology and UV outside 3D Coat and brought it back for painting.

This specific object was unwraped in 3DC. You marked Seams and pressed Apply-UVset. Then freeze happens.

- What if you repeat your workflow only using the specific object in a new clear project, export the model and re-import it in the full project ? (Paint room > import > model from...)

That's not exactly what I wanted in first place but It works fine. Thanks.
