(InstantLight) real time pbr renderer WITH GLOBAL ILLUMINATION

Recommended Posts

Greetings stusutcliffe

Instant Light  requires

  • Graphics card: DX9 (shader model 3.0) or DX11 with feature level 9.3 capabilities.
  • CPU: SSE2 instruction set support.

I believe it will run.

You can run the demo on the official site and test .

New BETA is coming up in the next hours so i recommend to wait for the new version as we just updated the core and shaders.

That is very kind, but I cant find where to download from? How do I register . Is it the purchase page? I really dont want to put in my card details or commit to buying just  yet . As also for uk buyers the price is not $99 but more like $140 ish .

Thank you, but maybe I will hang on until the new year.

If you are from EU you need to pay taxes unfortunately , same applies here.

The main problem I have is I cannot navigate in the scene at all. I haven't seen anything in the tutorials that explains scene navigation, and I've tried every hotkey combination I can think of = 0. Can't test anything if I can't even navigate about the scene. :(

....just to follow up, I uninstalled > reinstalled but made sure to RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR...because I remember getting some kind of error popup on the previous installs. I can navigate in the Edit room, but not at all in the Render room. Frustrating.

I also noticed a slight bug with the UI. In the Hierarchy panel, when using the scroll bar to reach the bottom of the panel...where the imported object is, it keeps scrolling back to the top on its own. This prevents me from being able to select the imported object. I have to use my mouse wheel to get to the bottom of the panel, instead. Strange.

Don , you need to watch the tutorials.

There are 3 ways of working and rendering .

Software always starts in the Render Room , in which you cant navigate.

You need to watch the tutorials , super easy to understand and work with.

I did watch the first two, but the main problem I had, initially, is that before I uninstalled > reinstalled, I could not navigate at all. Not even in the Edit Room. I think Windows messes up the install (gives an error message prompt during install) if you do not RMB click > RUN AS ADMINSTRATOR.

I also didn't know that it was not possible to navigate about in the render room, and didn't hear any mention of that, in those videos. I will watch them again.

3 workflow.

Starting always with

Workflow 1 (Look Dev workflow ) in Render room , click IL icon on the right and goes back to Editor Room.

Work in Editor , set camera (c) render in Render room

Workflow 2 its the double screen work in editor and at the same time look at split screen the result in Render Room

Workflow 3 Realtime Render room , work and edit at the same time in the Render room.

Icons for rooms are the 3 workflow setup icons after the hide unhide tree view (play icon)

Brief explanation here

Greetings Carlos ,

for scene non , as much as your Ram and GPU Ram can handle.

Per object there is a limitation of 80 k , if model passes 80k it auto splits the model in parts , so again no limitation there as well.

Uploaded Beta Demo is at version .56 , currently in studio we are at .87 , huge improvements in speed and render quality (we are pushing it a lot) , new shaders (grass , fur , glass , triplanar with no uv , 3D Coat BRIDGE from our part is done as well , and of course  voxel Vertex paint is supported now.

Will upload new version in the next couple days hopefully.

Sounds great. I was involved in a big move so have not touch Instant Light except the first day I got it... Once rested up after the holidays, I will take a deeper tour... :D
