Wow, awesome to hear that masks are planned :)

Hmmm, can you tell where the mask for water should be applied? I like to render some terrain with small lakes and I have mask, where
the lakes are white and the rest of the map is black...

You´re right - IL is not too hard to understand - but UI could really use improovements. Other than that, IL is outstanding *thumbs up*

Sorry , didnt wrote this well and i confused you.

I wanted to say that MASKS can also be applied on the water , we will add this too .

 

What you can currently do as a workaround is duplicate the water (Control D), scale it down and make the lakes.

hey MIchael,

 

do i understand this correct?

What I was looking for is this:

 

I have a terrain object with textures (color, metal, rough) and some b&w masks (grass and water for example), let´s call them 'A' and 'B'.
It would be totally awesome if there will be some way to tell IL "hey, put the grass fx in the white area of texture-mask A and water into white of mask B"

 

Is there a tutorial, regarding particles?

here comes another one:

can you bring in some kind of "background-image", like a photograph (not for HDRI lighting, but just to have a background)?

For the second , background image , we already have it working , and it will be on the official release or next pre release , cant be sure as we are heavily on the procedural cloth currently.

 

For Masks , its a shader thing and it needs more work to have everything working right as our shaders are "procedural" based , see snow and rain , how they work differently on each model.

 

Particles , just select a premade particle from the list and there it goes , everything up and running , to disable it press the stop button from the floating menu.

I am showing it on some tutorials , let me do a quick search.

Greetings Karsten , not YET included , still in ALPHA , once in BETA and AFTER CLOSED BETA pass , we will add them.

No simple bakers though..... and bakes other things like lighting for game engines....

Right this moment i am recording the PR 2 0.76 version with PROCEDURAL CLOTHING and many other additions , corrections etc etc.

Greetings Karsten , if you are referring to water / ground masks then Yes , we are creating a shader for this , tested with good first results but it needs a new water system 

based on shaders to make it work as it cant cut geometry based on the masks currently.
