New Member soulmedic Posted January 10, 2017 New Member Report Share Posted January 10, 2017 Hi! I'm quite new to 3dCoat and wanted to start something as an exercice: a space suit My idea was to first import a full body object, then "offset" or "inflate" the volume/surface slightly to have the base of the cloth surface and start sculpting from here. I naively try the Grow tool with a (E) rectangular selection but that did not work. Obviously I'm not using the right tool : ) What would be the recommended way to "offset" or "inflate" a all object at once, not using brush ? I'm pretty sure it must be pretty obvious but I can't find my way out in this one.
Advanced Member stusutcliffe Posted January 10, 2017 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 10, 2017 Make your body into voxels then use the vox extrude tool....for some reason this then turns your model into surface mode so you may need to convert back to voxels to smooth out a few overlapping creases. Anyway have a play with it and see. If you use the vox layer tool you can get an actual shell, sometimes usefull if you want to see up sleeves 'n' stuff.... Contributor Malo Posted January 11, 2017 Contributor Report Share Posted January 11, 2017 You could rightklick on the object or in the Voxtree Layer and use extrude. That gives you a nice offset over your object.
