Member Martin Maximilian Michl Posted January 20, 2017 Member Share Posted January 20, 2017 Hello baking the AO Layer for the physical shaders crashes my machine this means not only 3Dcoat but the whole computer instantly crashes/restarts I have a pretty strong comp: Dell Xeon 20x2.4gig 80 Gig Ram 2xNvidia 980ti running 3D Coat 4.7.06 DX (GL Version does the same) as the crash comes so suddenly, there is no crash log, neither do I see which part of the hardware (processor, ram, graca) is working at that point did anyone experience similar problems baking AO? thnx Martin
Member Martin Maximilian Michl Posted January 20, 2017 Author Member Share Posted January 20, 2017 trying the same thing on a intel machine works without the crash

Member Martin Maximilian Michl Posted February 8, 2017 Author Member Share Posted February 8, 2017 I am still facing the problem each time I bake AO (curvature works fine) Downloading 4.4.7.23 didn't help I also tried to turn off "use multicore" in preferences - still crashing What does resolve the problem is going down to a texture resolution of 2048k Going back to 4096k brings back the crash So it must be a kind of ram peaking I will not bother you with this problem, now as I found the 2k/4k workaround, just wanted to let you know thnx Martin

Member Mr.Panka Posted February 25, 2017 Member Share Posted February 25, 2017 I'm not sure about the crash log file. But you can send an e-mail to support@3dcoat.com with a step by step and your config (and ask if there's the crash log file). I usually do that and it's enough.
