Greetings 3D Coat Forum,

I'm trying to figure out the difference between the UVs in the Uv room vs the UVs n the retopo room.

I have imported an obj into the retopo room and have manually retopologized the mesh down to about 35k polys. I found that I need to bake my normals before moving on to arranging my uv islands otherwise the normal detail does not show up.

Once I bake the normal map the retopolized mesh shows up in the render tab and I can togglele on or off both the original mesh and the retopologized mesh.

I would like to set up my UVs but dont know where I need to do this. In the retop room or the uv room.

I've watched different you tbe videos on this and the best I can figure, the retopo room UV is for models created in cdcoat. When importing, the uvs are adjusted in the UV room?

Having two different maps show up, though, is a little confusing to me.

The UV tools in the Retopo Room are practically a mirror of those in the UV room. UV's on a model in the Paint room are to be edited in the UV room. UV's on a Retopo Mesh are done right inside that same workspace. The first part of this video helps to explain that a bit:

The videos were helpful. Thanks! I'm still missing something in getting the uvw map from the retopo room to the paint room. The map that shows up in the paint room is called "default" and completely different than the map created in the retopo room.
