Advanced Member houGenie Posted December 22, 2017 Advanced Member Share Posted December 22, 2017 Hi guys, I like 3d Coat and hope it will develop to an important tool in the industry. For me it is interesting what the future brings. When will wersion 5 release, and what new features will be included? Is someone here who can give insight into this?
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted December 23, 2017 Reputable Contributor Share Posted December 23, 2017 Maybe around Sept of next year. Depends. I doubt even Andrew yet knows. He is working over Splines and bugfixing, right now. I'm hoping he will implement a Spline Deform option in the Pose Tool (which is pretty much 3D Coat's Swiss Army modeling tool, for deforming operations), in the process and follow it up with Sculpt Layers in the Sculpt Workspace. Carlosan
The development cycle was always annual. So we have version 4.8 for 2018, 4.9 for 2019 and v5 for 2020.

I think 5 will be next, but it will probably be next fall, IMO.
