Member MaxHancock Posted December 26, 2017 Member Share Posted December 26, 2017 (edited) I am opening a obj, and proceeding to create seams, but 3d Coat v8.v4.04 keeps crashing. I'm on an iMac using macOS High Sierra 10.13.2. I can save the file, and add a few seams, but it keeps crashing periodically (random moment), especially when I start working. Interestingly, it won't crash as long as I don't touch the object, but as soon as I start working to add seams it crashes. Carlosan
Hi Try cleaning up the model removing n-Gons before importing the model to 3DC.
Member MaxHancock Posted December 26, 2017 Author Member Share Posted December 26, 2017 There are no Ngons or Triangles, all quads, but is that a known issue? I found that if uncheck off Preview Islands or completely close the UV Preview window, it no longer crashes. Whatever is causing it, I think it's related to that Preview Window. I think there was a problem in that version. I can not remember for sure but I think it was. Update to the newest beta version of 3DC. You can run both the version you have and the beta version. Test the new version and see if the problem is fixed. Edited December 27, 2017 by digman
Member MaxHancock Posted January 12, 2018 Author Member Share Posted January 12, 2018 Yes, I can confirm that this version is much more stable than 8v4-04, but it does still crash in some instances. It still crashes when previewing some islands, but this time it's harder to predict.
