New Member mnkyshield Posted January 4, 2018 New Member Report Share Posted January 4, 2018 Hi, New here, I love 3dCoat, am completely blown away by it. I was wondering if there was a way to create something like what is mentioned in the video below I guess if you could cut holes using a texture or paint objects on a mesh in a uniform way and then do a boolean. Dunoo, I am very curious about this. If this post is in the wrong place in the forums please move it. Thanks.
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted January 4, 2018 Contributor Report Share Posted January 4, 2018 Being an animator, I would do this in my renderer (Octane) to avoid the geometry of an actual mesh but there are folks on this forum that may be more informative. Member ChristianClavet Posted January 7, 2018 Member Report Share Posted January 7, 2018 You could create holes in the layer 0 in the paint room to have the holes. Could be a lot of work with all the detail I've seen here.
New Member mnkyshield Posted January 7, 2018 Author New Member Report Share Posted January 7, 2018 Yes the texturing solution is surely possible, and there are ways to do this on a polygon model in external packages. I just wanted to know if I wanted to duplicate an object of any shape on other object in an uniform way, is there a way to do it inside 3dCoat... But I guess you will need something like uvs for that.
