Advanced Member Ratchet Posted March 8, 2018 Advanced Member Report Share Posted March 8, 2018 (edited) Hi, I would like to see different noise generator with adjustable parameters, and some patterns. They are useful for tile map UV paint or to create new stencil mask directly in 3D coat. Generators like those on Substance designer, instead of using a graph we would use the actual layers to combine and mask noise and patterns. Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted March 8, 2018 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted March 8, 2018 Please send your request to support@3dcoat.com. Anyone else who agrees with the request should send their own email to the same address. I have pounded the table for a full-fledged procedural noise generator in 3D Coat for years...to no avail. Andrew says it isn't as simple as copying an open source library like Bercon Maps. I don't care. If ZBrush can have one available for several years now, there is no excuse for 3D Coat not to have one. There are some procedural noise types in the FILL tool (Paint Workspace) and there is a NOISE tool in the Sculpt workspace, but it's pretty limited, and doesn't offer various noise patterns. Carlosan
Feel free to add a +1 to this feature request 0002324: Smart Stencils (Masks) editor Smart Stencil Editor generate several masks based on the mesh topology using the additional maps setup in the Conditions Mask Material Editor. Each Smart Mask has a set of parameters allowing you to fine-tune the resulting mask. Currently this development is named Pattern Type, and is inside Fill Tool. These generated stencils can be attached to the current layer as layer Mask. (As Smart materials can do). Reference pic attached. Add a Mask that allows non-destructive editing of transparency. Please add pattern Type to Smart Stencil Editor.
