Hey guys, what tool do you guys use to make a patterns of voxel shapes, with orthogonal accuracy? I can't get warp to do it with any accuracy, and instancer means I have to manually move each instance, which is not efficient, nor does it work well. Think of sleepers of a railway track, equally spaced. That is what I want to create essentially. (but not curved) This is dead easy to create in sketchup or anything else, but can't seem to do it in my beloved 3d Coat. Thanks in advance

If you use 3D Grid snapping (VIEW Menu) or 2D Grid Snapping, you can lay down some instances accurately and quickly. Drag + ENTER, rinse and repeat as many times as you need, and you can enable symmetry while you do it.

The Measure Tool also allows you to create Measured guide and enable your brush to snap to those guide points.

Clone tool with the 2D grid can be used as well.

Clone one sleeper which makes two. Clone 2 which makes 4. Clone 4 which makes 8 and so on and so on.

You can keep all on one layer or as many layers as you like...
