EinScan Pro+ scanner tutorial

Recommended Posts

A reseller for EinScan sent me a whole set of their most high end scanner and accessories to review and make tutorials. According to my contact in China the EinScan Pro+ is the fastest scanner available under $20,000. I found the setup a little convoluted. For one thing the scanner and the turntable both need USB ports so you need two ports available and they also both need power outlets. Another issue I had is that the scanner is very dependent on your video card so my older card wouldn't cut it and I had to buy a new video card (GTX 1060 6GB). Once I got it set up though, it works perfectly. Really nice quality scans and very fast. It does have trouble with dark colored or shiny objects but no trouble with smooth surfaces.

If anyone is interested the scanner is not cheap but I have a 5% off discount code for their Amazon store 052M656Z
https://amzn.to/2Lfgu4c

I've done videos for unboxing and a scanning tutorial (including some 3D-Coat use) so far.

I'm choosing "new" 3d scanner for our small office, stucked a bit on these offers (our budget doesn't  allow us to go beyond the limits of $20k, may be +$1-2k more but it's max) - Leica c5 (ebay, used), Creaform 700 CX (ebay, used too), Artec Eva (new) or  eQuality Rexcan DS3 (amazon, new, but I doubt because I've never heard of this scanner). Can you give any advise pls if it's not hard for you? I know that buying used tools is kinda buying a cat in a bag.

I don't know if I can help much since this is the only one I've used. I can say this one is pretty fast. They told me it's the fastest one available under $20,000. I have a new video I'll post below showing how fast I can scan a toy car (under 20 minutes for  "OK" quality on a turntable with color). I'm working on another video now using it in handheld "rapid" mode and with a decent video card it's near real time as you slowly wave it over the object (my friend Pete in this case). I'm not always crazy about the color it creates, sometimes it's a little off. Maybe I need to calibrate it again.

If you do decide to go with this one please use the Amazon link in my videos, I could use the bonus I get from it. There's also a 5% off discount code.

Edit: here's the code and links.

Here's a coupon code for 5% of at the ScanIt! Amazon store: 052M656Z

Hey Shawn, I was wondering if you decided on a scanner.
