I'm trying to use Ctrl P to Edit all layers in external editor via Photoshop but all i get is the cannot write file error. I'm using version 4.8.18. Windows 10. It says its up to date.
Same thing happens if i open as Admin.

It was installed as Admin, I'll try the action with the anti virus turned off.
It creates the folder but doesn't do anything with it i think.

Edit: Still has the same issue with the anti virus turned off

That CAN'T be a valid path with a forward slash "\" can it?   I'd focus on that as the issue.

Hi

Probably access to Documents folder locked. It may happen if Google/Sky/... drive attached to Documents folder.
Try to run 3D-Coat as Administrator.

Yeah it is right, it just displays it on the side.

Not understood. Usually explorer shows all extensions (if you set [x] Show extensions) or skips extensions in other case (it shows only extensions of unknown types).

In your case I see that this option unchecked (.exe not shown). But I see coat_data_path.txt instead of coat_data_path
It means you created coat_data_path.txt.txt instead of coat_data_path.txt.

Just rename coat_data_path.txt -> coat_data_path

Ohhh you were right! my bad, copy and pasted the text so it doubled.

What needs to be in the text file? the directory it's attempting to write the temp file for Photoshop or something else?
