Advanced Member nobackup Posted August 10, 2018 Advanced Member Report Share Posted August 10, 2018 Is there a way when using the axial tool to instance the entire subtree? It only seems to instance whatever layer you have selected...it would be very useful to have instanced subtrees as well. Using version 4.20. Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted August 11, 2018 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted August 11, 2018 Axial tool is DESIGNED to replicate the object(s) on a layer, not a bunch of different layers. If you want to use this tool to replicated a bunch of different objects at once, then merge them (or copies of them) to the same layer. Carlosan
I was testing axial tool and it is working instancing the entire subtree.
Advanced Member nobackup Posted August 12, 2018 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted August 12, 2018 interesting...did you hit 'apply'? Because it just deletes the sub tree as soon as you do. See the attached video. Only the selected layer comes out as an instance. sub_tree_instance.mp4
Carlosan
You right Can axial a subtree (voxel mode) Cant axial a subtree (surface mode) On both modes, instance entire subtree is not working. I am reporting this issue. Thx
Carlosan
workaround: select one layer > apply array, select another layer > apply array, change parent.
