New Member Halixzed Posted August 19, 2018 New Member Share Posted August 19, 2018 Hi there, First of all, I am a complete starter in the creation of PBR smart materials. I know how to create basic ones, but after seeing the pre-made materials I saw some edge scattering, degree maps. The question is, are these the maps that require the curvature maps to be baked and if yes, how to create these maps. Thanks in advance. New Member Halixzed Posted August 20, 2018 Author New Member Share Posted August 20, 2018 Hi Carlosan, Thanks a million on introducing this amazing "awesome bump". But the thing is, when I use some pre-made materials, some of them require the curvature map to be baked. I want to know what map it is in the smart material that causes the curvature map to be baked. I know I have used only roughness, diffuse and depth map. And when I apply my own made materials, it doesn't say that it requires some curvature baking. I want to know what is the procedure of creating the smart materials that obey the curvature maps. Warm regards, Haris Ahmad

Warm regards, Haris Ahmad Whenever any channel of a layer in your Smart Material has a CONDITION applied to it....especially Convex and Concave...it will usually require a Curvature map to be baked for the model it's being applied to. You can test this by deleting any Curvature map that may already be in your scene > in the CONDITIONS Drop List Menu (very top center of the UI), choose More in Convex or Concave, and 3DCoat will automatically begin baking a Curvature map. Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted August 20, 2018 Reputable Contributor Share Posted August 20, 2018 ...Likewise, CONDITIONS that specify where light and shadows fall on a model, 3DCoat will require an AO map to be baked, to drive that Condition.
