Aligning two smart materials

Hey there friends,

I recently had a bit of trouble with this...

A bit of foreshadowing first. Because this asset is going into a game, I want to make two texture states. One with just charcoal for when the fire is out and one with the charcoal and an emissive layer that looks like the logs are on fire.

Because the logs are organic shapes and they can't all be aligned so that the texture runs along them perfectly I have to rotate the material with the smart bar/navigation etc. The problem I am having is that I have to use two smart materials one for the regular charcoal and one for the emissive layer. The problem here is that when I rotate and paint each log with the charcoal texture, the other emisive smart material doesn't rotate as well, so the glowing crcked look doesn't fit into the cracks of the charcoal texture (see image attached)

Is there a mode in the smart bar to link the two materials rotation and transformation? I feel like this has worked for me before but am now doubting myself :P

Thanks :)

I was thinking a workaround.

Press RMB over the Yellow dot to show up Nav Bar.

Then pressing with LMB the rotation gizmo use space bar. Numeric Values popup.

Adjust that value and use the same amount for the other smart material.

Before paint, remember to use RMB again to switch off Nav Bar.

And select From camera as paint projection method

Hope that help
