Right now cavity has some issues. First of all it is using flat shading even if you have unselected it in shading properties window. There is no rush with this feature request. I have asked Andrew if he would add some kind of a spread radius parameter or blurring/softness parameter in Cavity painting and Cavity/Bulge attributes in the PBR shaders. It is sorely needed.
