Hi,

Issue baking ptex to a model with uv s.

I model in sculpt room , retopo ,then bake with ptex, texture paint with depth in paint room and then use the texture baking tool to tranfer

diplacement to my retopo mesh with uvs . I have 'smoth mesh option' checked ' 'preserved positions of vertices while smoothing'unchecked

and the diplecement i get does have all my details baked from ptex .

Am i doing something wrong ?

Thx in advance

Hi

This are my settings and is working fine. What i do: export the low poly model from retopo room with uv-seams and unwrapped first, then select external mesh to bake displacement.

Use current Low-Poly mesh only give me bake errors. I switch it off.

If the mesh shape is pretty much the same, 3DCoat can do a pretty good job of baking to the new mesh, using the Texture Baking tool, as Carlos mentioned. Even if the mesh is split into multiple parts.
