Member jima Posted February 25, 2019 Member Report Share Posted February 25, 2019 What is the proper set of steps to move a model from sculpt room to retopo room for the purpose of subdividing selected parts of the model?
Member jima Posted March 3, 2019 Author Member Report Share Posted March 3, 2019 So, the real question is how do I add detail to my model without increasing the detail of the whole thing. Probably a number of ways to do this. 1. Open 3DC in surface sculpt mode 2. Import a model 3. Under Live Clay Tools, choose Live Clay 4.Note that a tool options window pops up 5. Set the detail level 6. Set Brush depth to 0% 7. Apply the brush to areas where you want detail 8. Surface tools > Draw 9. Choose a stencil and/or special patterned brush any apply I have not found a way to get around watching the videos.
Member Emi Posted March 3, 2019 Member Report Share Posted March 3, 2019 Latest videos at 3DCoat youtube channel cover this. The things is 3DCoat doesn't do subdivisions like Mudbox or Zbrush does, so the low poly will always be modified when you go Sculpt, that's why at the end of the job, you always will have to (re)bake the normals or change the topology depending on the detail you modified and the changes you made of course. That's why these videos are good to explain the ways 3DCoat works. But I dont know if by "I have not found a way to get around watching the videos" you already watched this and didn't seem to understand how 3DCoat works or you just haven't watched them.
