New Member Pewkins Posted August 24, 2019 New Member Report Share Posted August 24, 2019 Hello everyone, Very new to the software but was looking to get into it using a touch enabled laptop/tablet. I was in the market for a new commuter device anyway so my choices were between the HP envy x360 and the Surface Pro 6. Although I would really rather the surface pro as a commuter device, seeing as I walk to and from work a mile or so already carrying my work laptop, but I ended up going with the x360 because I felt that the chances of the surface pro 6 working were slim. Of course I get home and the x360 works like a dream and now I'm curious if the surface would have as well. I guess the use case would be modelling on the go that doesnt get extremely complex, would the surface pro 6 handle that load, or are the UHD Graphics completely incompatible, where the AMD integrated offering can survive? Just quick specs of each Surface pro 6: Intel® Core™ 8th Gen i5-8250U Intel® UHD Graphics 620 HP envy x360: AMD Ryzen™ 5 3500U (2.1 GHz, up to 3.7GHz, 6 MB cache, 4 cores) AMD Radeon™ Vega 8 Graphics
philnolan3d
I can't say if the Surface will work but I also have the x360 and I'm also very happy with it. I find it just as good or better than the surface and at a cheaper price.
