Member MaxHancock Posted November 8, 2019 Member Report Share Posted November 8, 2019 I applied a gloss color, with a smart material on the edge of an airplane model, and I'm trying to erase a portion of it with the erase tool, but it's not fully erasing for some reason. It seems to erase the glossiness, but not the color. Any idea what might be happening here?

Member MaxHancock Posted November 8, 2019 Author Member Report Share Posted November 8, 2019 Hi Carlosan, thanks, yes those Chanels are on. I figured it out. "Act as Pencil" needed to be ticked on. Now it erases everything like I expect. What does Act as pencil do?
Carlosan
It Erase as well but as Pencil tool, use sharp round. Great for fine details (pixels)
Member MaxHancock Posted November 8, 2019 Author Member Report Share Posted November 8, 2019 Awesome. Thanks. I couldn't find that in the manual anywhere, but that makes sense now.

Member MaxHancock Posted November 8, 2019 Author Member Report Share Posted November 8, 2019 (edited) Hi Carlosan, Thanks! I found this page here that has a load of great information, but there's no mention of the Paint as Pencil there under the erase section... https://3dcoat.com/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=general:paint_workspace:tools Edited November 8, 2019 by MaxHancock
