Carlosan
Hi Upgrades and beta upgrades have more date delay in the steam version.

I think Andrew is going to discontinue selling 3DCoat on Steam soon. For one thing, Pilgway has no control over when they make updates/new builds available....but Steam customers always ask "When are the new builds going to be available on Steam?" We always have to point back to the STEAM FAQ thread on this forum. Secondly, they generally control their own sales pricing, so a sale on this site doesn't always sync with theirs. Thirdly, you can install a 3DCoat license on up to 3 different computers (ie, home, work, laptop). The only caveat is you can only use that license on one machine at any given time. So, for example, if you are currently using 3DCoat on your laptop at home, and a co-worker tries to use the same license at work, at the same time, you will get a warning to close one instance. So, it's super flexible and makes a Steam license practically unnecessary. Lastly, and probably the chief reason to stop selling 3DCoat on Steam is because it basically robs Pilgway of half the revenue of the license. That means less revenue to hire and keep good developers. Fewer good developers make progress in 3DCoat slower, for us users.

Advanced Member RabenWulf Posted November 13, 2019 Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 13, 2019 I was able to migrate from Steam to 3D Coat, as the first version I bought was on Steam. This was done via the upgrade process though, so it might be a tad different if you buy pro on steam.
