New Member Gnarly Potato Posted October 18, 2020 New Member Report Share Posted October 18, 2020 Hey fellas, I'm thinking of trying 3dcoat as my primary sculpting tool, however there are couple roadblocks that make it really hard for me to switch - currently my main zbrush workflow is heavily relied on TrimSmoothBorder and i can't seem to find anything that would work for me in 3dcoat. Here is how i detail my edges in zbrush: TrimSmoothBorder allows me to get nice angular breakup on edges as well as dig into a surface creating indents, wood chips and metal damage with couple strokes of a single brush. I've tried everything i could think of in 3dcoat and i think Flatten Clay gives me best results on breaking up edges, its all nice and sharp, however it lacks the other feature that i need - ability to aggressively dig into the surface. It feels very restrictive and requires a lot of work to destroy original geometry flow: I'd really appreciate if someone could show me the way to do the same in 3dcoat or to make brush preset that would fit my workflow. Carlosan
Try also chisel or new Surface Brush, you can use the base tool to create new ones using new brush engine.

Advanced Member sprayer Posted October 18, 2020 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 18, 2020 Try to play with options buildup and indent, and in brush options you may add jitter position and radius
