Is there a way to exclude some uv islands from the packing process in the uv room?  Its one reason I don't pack my uvs in 3dcoat because I don't know if its possible to specifically lock some uv islands and only affect the other uv islands.

If you want to pack some of the islands in certain location in the UV map,

With Mark seam selected,

- Select the islands in UV map

- Commands>> UV settings

try with different the Min MAX U and Min Max V  settings.

- you can move the islands out of the default square first when managing the islands.

Is that what you are asking?

I could not find  "pack"  command as selectable.  (or only effect visible part only)

Though there are many UV command, which work for Selected only, but Pack command seems not work so. (it need to change FULL isnalds

or we need to change UV set for the islands, but it can not use as one UV sets .(it just pack separately for current UV units) ,

So I suppose there is no option which  geo_n expect.. (but of course we can manually adjust or scale for selected islands manually, or can use other many uv command (group as selected)

I suppose he talk about kind of pin UV tool. (or simply try pack only for selected island )

@pickers not exactly. I did try to do what you suggested.

@tokikake  yes uv island pinning. I want to pack only other uv islands and some islands should not get affected by packing process. Other 3d apps have it.
Ex in lw. I want the lower left uv island to stay in place and pack the others.
