Member MarkC Posted December 4, 2020 Member Report Share Posted December 4, 2020 (edited) I have done a paint job on one part of a model. I want to duplicate the same material on another part which will be loaded into 3DC separately. When I applied a metal material I adjusted scale etc in the viewport, how can I emulate this? Thanks Edited December 4, 2020 by MarkC
Carlosan
If you create a new Smart material, it can be shared with other model. But individual hand painted cant be shared.
Member MarkC Posted December 4, 2020 Author Member Report Share Posted December 4, 2020 Thanks, I will have to start naming layers with Smart Material names, otherwise it’s difficult to remember what was used......
Member DaveGr Posted December 8, 2020 Member Report Share Posted December 8, 2020 I have started doing the same myself - it helps a lot. Wish I could save the paint layers as a new smart material - I am unable to see how to that and may not even be possible. If it is, I would like to know how - basically combining smart materials used into a new one.
Member MarkC Posted December 13, 2020 Author Member Report Share Posted December 13, 2020 Is there an option to save a set of layers from session to session. With my current project, I am bringing separate elements into 3D Coat, but all have same layer setup.
