Member RetopoBro Posted January 5, 2021 Member Report Share Posted January 5, 2021 Hi, I'm working on some mobile assets and they require low res textures 512x512 and 256x256. I've been struggling with 3d coats paint room with these and I couldn't figure it out then it hit me, jaggy edges. What your seeing is a low res texture with lines done in Substance Painter, Photoshop and then 3DCoat. The difference is obvious, Ive tested different brushes, falloff settings, border widths and so on and 3d coat doesn't seem to have the level of anti aliasing that these other programs do. If there is a setting I'm missing please let me know, but as far as I can tell and by all the other posts over the years I found of people complaining about jagged edges, I'd say this is the problem right here. Any help would be great Thanks in advance.
Advanced Member sprayer Posted January 5, 2021 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 5, 2021 In 3dcoat you can adjust just falloff parameter for smoothing brush but that's a bit different than photoshop. to smooth brush you need to choose more smooth brush alpha, try 3rd for example
