[Fixed] Problem with imported UV maps

I am having an issue with an imported UV map. Wondering if anyone could help me...?

I created the normal map in Blender, and I am trying to import both the model and the normal map into 3D Coat for texture painting.

As you can see from the screenshots, it looks very wrong. Something to do with the seams.

I've tried FBX and OBJ. I've tried importing with and without flipping the Green channel (which is usually the problem), but no resolution. I am stumped.

I am suspicious that it might be the alpha background to the normal map that is upsetting 3D Coat. Unfortunately, Blender seems entirely unwilling to bake without this transparent background (I am using the "bake from multires" function, which has no options at all!).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
