[Bug] Cloth doesn't simulate

Recommended Posts

I am not sure if its my laptop or not (specs below) but I can't even simulate a cloth over a sphere.

I just get a spinning wheel and hear the fan go wild, nothing happens. I am pretty sure this laptop is more than capable? Why wouldn't it be able to simulate this?

Thanks!

My laptop specs are as follows:

MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)

2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9

64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB

Hello

Are you using latest version ?

macOS 11 Big Sur [4.9.69]:

http://www.pilgway.com/~sergyi/3DCoat/3DCoat-4.9.69.dmg

"3DCoat" for macOS has been signed and notarized with Apple. Ensure to check "System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General > click the "lock" > select "App Store and identified developers". When only the "App Store" is selected an error message is displayed "3DCoat-4.9.xx.dmg" can't be opened because it was not downloaded from the App Store. Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the App Store.

Hello again,

I am just trying to get my head around the cloth tool. I have made a basic table and gone with the parameters of Gravity - 9, Friction - 0.6 & Cloth Thickness - 1.0. However I dont get the cloth falling simulation as per youtube videos. Nothing happens, just a spinning wheel.

Any help is hugely appreciated...as always.

Archie
