Reality capture has a function to convert a video into images at regular intervals, so if that function is implemented in 3Dcoat, it may save time.

its in3dcoat , 3dcoat uses reality capture , but the time taken isnt the conversion , just getting a decent quality using video is a nightmare ..

took about 6 hours for 30 seconds of 4k 60 fps footage and i couldnt even use the asset

regular photos works alot better

open the Extensions window and make sure the Reality Capture module checkbox is checked, it will launch the module when 3dcoat starts. You can also launch it manually using the Start button.

3D Coat, unlike Reality Capture, selects the sharpest frames rather than just any at the same time interval, but this process should take several minutes. To understand what your problem is, we need more information, what CPU and GPU you have, you can also send a video example.

Maybe your sculpture is on a very small scale?

ok the density was wrong , but when you increase resolution you have to decrease the density which makes the model massive!

i dont get why you change the density size .. why does the models density determine the scale , and if density is increase with resolution why doesnt the model get smaller ..

why cant it just divide and density be gone?

what would be the main use of changing its density? cant that feature be gone? or disabled to scale isnt destroyed?

i have a 10900k oc , an a 4070super ,

when you choose how many frames to process i basically chose ever frame of the 30 second clip so 30seconds x 60 frames =1800 frames processed

this is a very large amount but i wanted to test to see exactly how well it performed .. the model wasnt shiny nor was it a complex shape it was a dark grey matt cup and i had large parts missing or topology destroyed ... i will have to try again using better lighting , maybe an outdoor scene ... has anyone had any good results from this?

Ok, I see, I will make it impossible to enter such parameters, since it makes no sense. You can choose 300 sharp frames from a 5-minute video, but there's no point in extracting every frame from a 30 second video.

Could you list the steps of what you do?

If the surface of the object is uniform and does not have a clearly defined texture, the result may be poor.

thinking now ... i may have rushed the video... give me more time ... let me test this more and ill get back to you

@carrots will be good to add also Meshroom engine ?

In essence, Reality Capture support is simply a plugin written in Python, in the same way we or you can write plugins that will support other engines including Meshroom.

At the moment we would like to debug the Python support itself and at least one photogrammetry engine.

this brush is a standard draw rush but using no relax and for some reason it gives different results each stroke , im currently using a mouse as i was testing so its not pressure related .

so top video , mesh subtracts in the edge even though the brush is add only and second video is the brushes inconsistency
