Carlosan
- Artem Feodoroff: I saw this video where he uses transform copy tool. I wonder does this copy only the base color data or is it everything combined like normal, mesh, and base color ? - Silas Merlin: there are two ways to do that (copy colour+depth+rough/metal) both methods are with the clone tool. First method is if you are cleaning the high poly directly and using vertex colour. this requires quite a bit of set up, which I can explain if you want, but it is only useful if your final output texture is no more than one or two 4k textures, because it requires a lot of computing power (you need one vertex per desired pixel in the final output). Second method which I have never tried because I thought of it only just now when you asked is much simpler : -clean only unwanted spikes and scrambled areas on the scan. -retopo, unwrap and bake -now you can use the clone tool to repair. enable colour and depth on the brush, this will effectively clone all the bumps and cracks along with colour. Only problem I see with this is the fact that clone tool works from the point of view of the camera, making it impossible for example to clone something that is on the other side of the mesh. two solution to that : -First is not very practical : make two copies of the scan to retopo and bake into the scene, the second copy being rotated maybe 180%, giving you more choices as to what to copy. -Second solution : Make a convincing feature request to get the ability to have two 3d viewports, like you can do in Blender
