Advanced Member Metin Seven Posted January 31, 2022 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 31, 2022 Hi, Autoremesher is an auto-retopology algorithm that is better than Instant Meshes. Autoremesher is also still actively being improved. It would be great to have this in 3D-Coat: https://github.com/huxingyi/autoremesher Thanks in advance for considering this.

Advanced Member Metin Seven Posted January 31, 2022 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 31, 2022 Merhaba @Koray, Yes, my father came from Turkey and my mother was Dutch. Having grown up in the Netherlands, I speak only very little Turkish. Regards from the Netherlands, where a storm is raging over the country today.

Andrew just spent quite a bit of time improving the Auto-Retopo toolset in 3DCoat, so it would probably be rather redundant to add another source. The reason Instant Meshes was added was because there are times where super clean topology wasn't necessary, but it needs to work with even difficult models. Sometimes 3DCoat's default may struggle with certain models, like very thin objects or very complex shapes. This is where Instant Meshes could be chosen as a different alternative, because it was pretty robust in the sense that it could handle objects that were rather difficult. Haven't tried that thoroughly since working with 4.x.

Advanced Member Metin Seven Posted February 20, 2022 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 20, 2022 (edited) @Andrew Shpagin You might be interested in having a look at this new auto-retopo algorithm. Maybe you can use (parts of) it for Autopo, or change the Instant Meshes option to this new algorithm. https://www.quadmesh.cloud/ https://github.com/nicopietroni/quadwild Edited February 20, 2022 by Metin Seven
